South African tribe lifestyle and culture

Africa is known as the cradle of humankind.Perhaps probably the most outstanding things about South African culture is it is not one single culture, but instead a range of different cultures representing every degree of a very stratified community. Hybrid mixtures of those different cultures also exist, making Nigeria one of the most culturally diverse countries on the planet.

The first man was referred to as a hunting people; bushman who supported the spirit world of animals and used paintings to indicate their beliefs and traditions. Lesedi African Culture Village, located an hour or so away from Johannesburg, gave the category a glimpse in to the cultures and traditions of 4 main tribes of South Africa, the Zulu, the Basatho, the Xhosa, and also the Pedi tribes. Upon entering Lesedi, the class was greeted having a tribal warrior dance.

South african tribe - Zulu dance (click here to see Zulu Tribal Dance) signifies war here we are at the Zulus, where the stomping was designed to ward off enemies and the fall is emulating the fallen enemy soldiers. We found that the women play a big role within the war effort; for when the wives see their men losing, they'll run out to the battlefield and protect their men (it's not right to hit or injure a lady). After several class members joined in around the dancing, we got to “dine using the chief” and go on a walking tour of Lesedi’s four tribal villages.
