Famous Hindu Religious Places In India



Pilgrimage as a fundamental and key part of the Hindu community. The pinnacle act of Hindu worship, would be to stand in the presence of the deity and also to look upon the image using their eyes, so as to see and become seen by the deity. A pilgrimage is really a religious journey; people undertake pilgrimages to allow them to worship at special places that are connected to their religion. Journeying to holy places of pilgrimage are usually carried out as acts of religion and devotion in accumulating religious merit in order to atone for sins. Pilgrimages are also regarded by Hindus like a religious duty from which darsan could be attained.

Badrinath Temple

It is considered among most famous Hindu religious places of india. Badrinath Temple is also known as Badrinarayan temple, situated along the Alaknanda River, in the hill town of Badrinath, Uttarakhand in India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is widely considered to be one of the holiest Hindu temples in India. The temple and town are also regarded as one of the four Char Dham and Chota Char Dham pilgrimage sites. It is one of the five related shrines called as Panch Badri and also one of the 108 Divya Desams, holy shrines for Vaishnavites.

BodhgayaBodhgaya

Bodh gaya is locatedin the central part of the state of Bihar, in the northeastern part of India. It is the part of the great Ganges plains. It is situated on the west of the Falgu River, which is a tributary of River Ganga (Ganges). It is 13 km south of Gaya and 113 km south of Patna city. The climate of Bodh gaya is tropical.
Summers are generally hot (April-June), while winters are cool (October-February). It experiences southwestern monsoonrains from July until September.

Golden Temple

It is the best symbol of indian culture.Golden temple, which is renowned as Harmindar Sahib or Sri Durbar Sahib is the popular holy shrine of Sikhs, located in Amritsar,Punjab-India. The temple is named after the god Hari. It is the sacred and cultural center of Sikhs. This vital Sikh shrine magnetizes more visitors than the Taj Mahal with more than 100,000 tourists per a day.
